About StrataMinutes
A British Columbia service for strata councils: professionally prepared minutes, and free guides that are checked against the law they explain.
What we do
StrataMinutes prepares meeting minutes for British Columbia strata corporations. A council sends its rough notes, photos of handwritten notes, or a recording of the meeting, and receives complete, professionally formatted minutes in PDF and Word, organized the way the Strata Property Act expects, with a checklist of anything the record should still include. We prepare minutes from what the council provides; we do not attend meetings. See how it works.
Who we serve
Volunteer strata councils across BC, from duplexes and bare-land stratas to high-rises, and especially self-managed stratas where a volunteer secretary carries the paperwork. Property management companies use our company accounts for the stratas they manage.
How our guides are written
The Help Centre holds more than forty free guides and tools for BC strata councils. They are written to one standard:
- From the source. Every guide is written from the current text of the Strata Property Act, the Strata Property Regulation and the Standard Bylaws as published on BC Laws, the Province's official legislation site.
- Every rule is cited. Statements of law name the section they come from, and each guide links to the official text so you can check it yourself.
- Dated reviews. Guides show the date they were last reviewed against the legislation. When the law changes, or we find an error, we correct the guide and update the date.
- Your bylaws come first. Many rules come from the Standard Bylaws, which a strata can amend. We say so wherever it matters.
- No real client material. Examples use fictional stratas such as "Strata Plan ABC 1234". We never publish minutes or details from the stratas we work with.
What we are not
StrataMinutes is not a law firm, and our guides are general information, not legal advice. For a question that turns on your strata's own bylaws, or a dispute already under way, a lawyer who practises strata law or the Civil Resolution Tribunal's free Solution Explorer is the right next step.
Privacy and your meeting notes
Minutes contain personal information about owners. The notes, documents, photos and recordings you send are used to prepare your minutes and are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
